Worship Service Style
Why do we worship?
We desire to exalt Jesus and in so doing invite Holy Spirit to be among us. As we mister to the Father, He ministers to us.
Psalms 16:11 “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”
Why do we lift our hands?
Psalms 134:2 “Lift your hands toward the sanctuary,
and praise the LORD. ”Psalms 63:4 “I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. ”Psalms 47:1 “Why do we clap our hands?
Come, everyone! Clap your hands!
Shout to God with joyful praise!”
Why do we play musical instruments and dance?
Psalms 150:3-5 “Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.”
Why do we sing choruses and hymns?
Ephesians 5:18-19 “Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.”
Why do we have speaking in tongues and interpretation?
1 Corinthians 14:27 “No more than two or three should speak in tongues. They must speak one at a time, and someone must interpret what they say.”
Why do we prophesy?
1 Corinthians 14:1 “Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy.”
