One meaning of “vision” in the Bible is divine communication. In other words. when we speak of having a vision for any church, what is critical is that we have God’s own purpose and direction, not just the thoughts or plans of man, or what we think might be good to do as a church. God has revealed through His word his vision for the church. We have adopted this as the vision of Grace Fellowship Church as well.
One part of that vision is that the church will bring glory and honor to God our Father through Jesus Christ the Son throughout all of the ages to come. In other words, believers living for Christ, obeying the Lord, enduring trials and temptations, being grateful for all that He has done, being led by the Spirit, and other tenets of the Christian faith bring praise to God because of his great mercy, grace, and love which He has demonstrated to us through Jesus. For example, when a testimony is shared about how Jesus helped you, others hear of it and give glory to God! The church, therefore, is a vehicle to display to one another and the world around us the goodness and greatness of our God. He is our eternal boast!
At Grace Fellowship, our desire is to see God glorified in our services, times of outreach, ministry, and whatever we put our hand to do. We put a great value in Body ministry, personal testimony, and believing God to manifest His power among us!
Another part of His vision for the church is put forth in the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19-20 contains what has come to be called the Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We as believers and disciples of Christ are called to preach the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ and the salvation He freely offers. God’s desire is for all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. In His wisdom, God has chosen the very partakers of His grace and salvation, the believers that make up the church, to be witnesses to a lost and dying world of the wonderful salvation that Jesus offers to all who will receive.
At Grace Fellowship, we have a history of sending out missionaries to other parts of the world in order to help fulfill the Great Commission. We also have local outreach to children in our area to teach them the Word of God and help them to follow Jesus. We preach and believe the Bible, and the leadership at Grace Fellowship desires to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry, for truly our Lord has part for each believer to fulfill in His wonderful plan!
